Stone Arch Retirement Village (SARV ) describes a retirement community and purpose-built, age-restricted or age-qualified housing complex designed for senior adults who are generally able to care for themselves; however, home care and assistance will also be available at each SARV site to ensure residents do not need to worry about moving or searching for more suitable accommodation if or should they need care or support at some stage of their retirement. On a daily basis, there will always be wide-ranging amenities, activities, and socialization opportunities provided at each site. Residents of the SARV retirement village community must be age 55 or over, partially or fully retired.
The proposed Stone Arch Retirement Village (SARV) will be the first of its kind in Northern Cyprus. The Company aims to build several projects over the next 10 years bringing over 5,000 retired Europeans (mostly from the UK) to reside here. The first project (BOGAZ 1) will accommodate 640 retirees and completed by 2020. 80% of the residents of this first site are expected to be newly retired able persons and 10% retired persons with some degree of care needs, with the remaining 10% allocated under our corporate social responsibility programme to encourage the first generation British Cypriots and overseas retired Cypriots to make a return to their homeland.
Scope of the activities
SARV retirement village provides its residents, aged 55 and over, with purpose-built housing and a range of lifestyle and care services to allow them to live independently into old age. When residents purchase a home in one of the Stone Arch Retirement Villages, they are also purchasing access to activities, services and facilities. It is these activities, services and facilities, rather than the real estate, which create the social value for our stakeholders.
- Shared spaces such as a community hall, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a bowling green, gardens, allotments, barbecue facilities and much more
- Activities that provide residents with physical exercise and recreation (either or both) such as exercise classes, sporting groups, hobby sessions, workshops, and excursions outside the village.
- Access to emergency services, such as an on-call nurse and an emergency call system in the home that can be activated if assistance is required.
- In-home assistance (if required) such as catering and cleaning services.
- Facilitated access to tradespeople such as painters and gardeners.
- A village manager and village staff who coordinate the activities, services and facilities and provide day-to-day presence
- Security services.
The proposal will represent a comprehensive care independent lifestyle retirement village, where low and high care rooms, assisted living suites and independent living units, leisure and recreational facilities will be on offer. This will allow a range of retired residents, over the age of 55, regardless of their circumstances, to enjoy being part of a vibrant village community. In total, the proposal is to build 5 separate, standalone retirement villages across the Northern part of Cyprus, accommodating approximately 5,000 retired people from across Europe, in particular from the UK.
At each village there will be at least 1 Building Block with assisted living suites and care beds facilities together with a qualified staff, 24 hours full continuum of care offering, providing peace of mind for residents and their families, loved ones. Across each retirement village, the balance of the site will consist of ‘life-long ownership’ modern apartments, in one, two, or three, bedroom configurations, will support independence and provide direct access, wide-ranging activities, leisure, and recreational facilities to the village community.
Internally, the architecturally designed communal areas, care rooms, assisted living suites, and apartments will be constructed with quality materials, durable finishes and fitted with high-end appliances. This will provide a comfortable and enjoyable living environment for years to come. All buildings will be brick facades with tiled roofs. Village amenities, leisure and recreational facilities will include outdoor paths and landscaped areas, a bowling green, activities areas, in-door and out-door swimming pools, theatre and library, a market and variety of shops as well as a drop-in health- care/wellness centre.
All amenities will be readily available to residents, mostly inclusive in monthly. At each retirement village, there will be a Governing Board which would include representatives of the Residents’ Committee to oversee the day-to-day running of each Site, ensure operational activities and services are in accordance with accepted universal retired living guidelines and regulations.
